FOWLER — A Fowler man was arrested after a complaint about a shooting that left a man with a gunshot wound to the arm, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Leon B. Wells, 51, was arrested Oct. 7 and charged with first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, criminal use of a firearm, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree menacing, deputies said.
The arrest stemmed from a complaint received Oct. 6 regarding an incident on Pond Road in which a male victim was allegedly shot in the arm.
Wells was arraigned in Fowler Town Court before Judge Timothy Knowlton and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $100,000 cash bail, officers said.
A no-contact order of protection was issued in favor of the victim.
Deputies said the investigation was assisted by the state police, Ogdensburg Police, Canton Police , Massena Police, Homeland Security Investigations and the Northern Regional Special Response Team.
