OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg Free Academy was on temporary lockdown after police received a report of a man wielding a gun on State Street today.
Ogdensburg Police Chief Mark Kearns said the lockdown was taken out of extreme caution because the safety of the students is the highest priority, but that no one was in immediate danger.
He said a subject was taken into custody and was in possession of a revolver BB pistol with a realistic appearance.
Charges are pending and classes have resumed.
The school and police will be releasing more information on the matter later today.
