To the Editor:
I am truly humbled, honored, and deeply grateful for the trust and confidence the citizens of the City of Ogdensburg have placed in me by electing me to continue serving on the Ogdensburg City Council.
First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank all the citizens of Ogdensburg, whether you voted for me or not. Your voices, concerns, and opinions matter, and I want everyone to know that I am committed to representing all residents of our great city, not just those who supported my candidacy.
To my family, friends, supporters, and everyone who encouraged me throughout this campaign, I cannot thank you enough. Your kind words, prayers, phone calls, messages, endorsements, and expressions of confidence have meant more to me than you will ever know. I am especially grateful to those who took the time to vote and participate in our democratic process.
I would also like to recognize Shannon Ferguson-Thornhill for her willingness to step forward as a write-in candidate for the Ogdensburg City Council. Running for public office requires commitment, courage, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in our community.
While Shannon and I may have had differences in our perspectives and approaches, I believe we share common ground in our desire to see Ogdensburg succeed and prosper. Ultimately, we both care about the future of our city and the well-being of its residents.
I sincerely respect her willingness to participate in the democratic process, and I thank her for her interest in serving our community. I wish Shannon and her family all the very best.
As I have stated throughout my campaign, my commitment remains unchanged. I will continue to work toward responsible government, fiscal accountability, maintaining essential city services, encouraging economic development, and making decisions that serve the best interests of our citizens and taxpayers.
I firmly believe that public service is not about personal recognition or political differences. It is about listening, working together, making responsible decisions, and always putting the people of Ogdensburg first.
I will continue to be accessible, approachable, transparent, and accountable to the people I have the privilege of representing. I may not always agree with everyone, but I promise to listen respectfully, consider different perspectives, and make decisions based on what I sincerely believe is in the best interests of our city.
My campaign commitment remains my commitment to you:
"Committed to the Community. Accountable to the People. Focused on Ogdensburg's Success."
Once again, thank you to my family, my friends, my supporters, and most importantly, the citizens of Ogdensburg for giving me the opportunity to continue serving you.
I look forward to working with my fellow City Council members, city administration, employees, businesses, and residents as we continue building a stronger and more prosperous Ogdensburg.
God Bless You All, and God Bless the City of Ogdensburg.
James "Jim" LaFave
