GOUVERNEUR — State police arrested a Watertown man on drug charges after a traffic stop on County Route 9 on March 28 around 6:55 p.m.

Troopers report that they observed a 2011 Nissan Sentra committing numerous traffic violations on County Route 9 and they initiated a traffic stop.

The operator, John C. Reynolds, 43, of Watertown, showed signs of impairment and after failing SFST’s, he was arrested.

During the stop, Reynolds was found to be in possession of a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, bags of suspected fentanyl and a scale.

Troop B’s Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) charged Reynolds with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (C-Felony), seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (A-Misdemeanor), second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia (A-Misdemeanor), DWAI-drugs and various traffic violations.

Reynolds was arraigned in the Town of Gouverneur and released.

VGNET was assisted by the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, U.S. Border Patrol and Gouverneur Police Department.
