LOUISVILLE -- The Louisville Town Board is seeking letters of interest from the public to fill an open seat.
The announcement came during a special meeting held Sept. 23 after Board Member Kevin Perretta suggested the town accept applicants to ensure town operations can continue.
"I think it's important we fill the empty seat. Maybe we can put out a notice, anyone interested can reach out to our clerk and submit a letter of interest," he said during the meeting.
The vacancy on the town board came with the resignation of Dan O'Keefe, who officially resigned Sept. 16 prior to the board's regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
The opening also creates an interesting dynamic as the town weighs two RFPs for the municipally owned Golf Course at Louisville Landing.
Perretta, along with Board Member Shawn Thompson, were appointed to a committee to review the two proposals during a special meeting on Sept. 23.
Officials signaled they hoped to fill the vacancy prior to selecting a winning bid.
Town officials are expected to take action on the RFP during the next regularly scheduled meeting on October 14.
For those interested in filling the seat, letters of interest must be submitted to the town clerk by the close of business on October 7.
A new board member will be appointed during the Oct. 14 meeting.
