CANTON – St. Lawrence County has a seat on the New York State Tourism Industry Association (NYSTIA) Board of Directors following the election of Tiffani Amo, Director of Tourism for the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.
Amo was elected to a three-year term during NYSTIA’s Annual Meeting, held as part of the 2026 New York State Tourism Excellence Awards & Summit, September 16–18 in Corning.
NYSTIA brings together tourism organizations, attractions, lodging businesses and other industry partners from across New York State. Through advocacy, professional education and collaboration, the association helps its members address the opportunities and challenges facing destinations throughout the state.
Amo’s election places St. Lawrence County’s perspective in those statewide discussions. It also strengthens connections that the county’s tourism office can draw on when working with local businesses, attractions and event organizers.
“Tourism has a real impact here. It brings customers through the doors of local businesses and gives visitors more reasons to explore the places we’re proud to call home,” said Amo. “I’m glad to bring the perspective of a rural destination to the board and to learn from colleagues across the state. Those conversations can help us better support the people and businesses doing this work in St. Lawrence County.”
Through the Chamber’s role as St. Lawrence County’s designated Tourism Promotion Agent, Amo leads efforts to promote the county as a visitor destination and support its tourism industry. Her work includes connecting local partners with promotional opportunities, supporting visitor-focused events and helping strengthen the experiences that bring people to the county.
Amo has served as Director of Tourism since 2023 and has worked closely with the Chamber and local tourism industry for several years. Her board service builds on that work, bringing local experience to NYSTIA while creating more opportunities to share ideas and resources with St. Lawrence County’s tourism partners.
