The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team was edged by Skidmore College by the score of 76-75 in a Liberty League contest in the Burkman Gymnasium.
St. Lawrence, which led 40-39 at the intermission, dropped to 14-10 overall and 10-6 in the Liberty League. Senior co-captain Ralph Temgoua had a team-high 22 points and four rebounds, while senior Terry Parham had 19 points and five points. Senior co-captain Garrett Sharlow added 15 points and five rebounds.
Temgoua tied the game at 66-66 with 5:51 remaining with a pair of free throws. The visitors responded with a 3-pointer and a jumper on back-to-back possessions to jump up to 71-66 and would not relinquish their lead. The Saints had a last second bid at the buzzer that did not fall.
The Saints will play in the 2012 Liberty League Tournament next Wednesday, Feb. 22. The location and opponent are to be determined this weekend in the remaining conference games.
