Walking for cancer in Canton

CANTON — The 46th annual Edward I. Moses Walk/Run for Life was  expanded to three locations  this year, adding  Potsdam and Ogdensburg as new venues.
"The goal is to bring the whole county in,”  said President Dick Christie. Expanding the event beyond Canton is hoped to raise more money for the cancer fund.
All money raised at the events will stay in St. Lawrence County to benefit friends and neighbors in the local fight against cancer.
“Over 64,000 last year was given to seven local organizations to help people in St. Lawrence County,” said Christie.

Jim Moses, Gouverneur, son of the Edward I. Moses, for whom the event is named, was also organizing Saturday’s event in Canton.
Kinney Drugs Foundation employees offered to become the corporate sponsor of the event  forty five years ago in honor of Jim Moses' father, Kinney Drugs President Edward I. Moses, who had died of cancer.
