To the Editor:

As a state Senator, it’s vital to have colleagues in county government that I can rely on as a partner. Working together, we can ensure our shared constituents have the high quality of life they deserve. To that end, I’m pleased to announce my strong support for Rita Curran’s re-election to the St. Lawrence County Legislature’s 15th District.

As a county legislator, Rita has been a key ally in the effort to rein in spending, hold the line on property taxes and address our local infrastructure needs. Rita is currently the Chair of the Legislature’s Operations Committee, a crucial role that oversees a host of vital county services and departments. Under her guidance, the legislature continues to ensure that the government functions efficiently and effectively.

She’s actively engaged in her community, with a lengthy and distinguished career in health care as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - and that passion has extended into a continued interest in serving to address public and mental health in our region - and as a volunteer with the Louisville Fire Auxiliary.

I’ve gotten to know Rita Curran well over the years and I deeply appreciate her commitment to service and the communities she represents. The 15th District is fortunate to have her as its county Legislator. I look forward to her re-election and our continued partnership on behalf of our shared constituents.
