Robert Tyndall, 73, Louisville

LOUISVILLE -- Robert Tyndall passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Calling hours and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillip Memorial Home in Massena.

As per the family’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral services.

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at the Louisville Community Cemetery.

Robert, fondly known as Bob or Bobby, was born on May 23, 1953, in Canton, NY, to John and Betty (Rood) Tyndall.

After high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1974 and honorably discharged in 1978.

He married Cathy Premo on June 23, 1979, at the Waddington United Methodist Church. Cathy predeceased him on July 24, 2018.

Bob was employed in the greater Potsdam area throughout the past 40 plus years, working as a Parts Service Manager, spending many years at TJ Toyota and Blevins Motors.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 1513 in Madrid, NY.

Bob spent 10 years as scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America Troop 69 in Louisville, and helped coach little league baseball in Louisville in the early 1990’s. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Jon R. Tyndall and companion, Nicole Garrison of Essex Junction, VT, and Jay R. Tyndall and companion, Noelle Barse of Massena, NY, two grandchildren, Aiden and Ellanore of Essex Junction, VT. Robert is also survived by his twin brother, William “Billy” Tyndall of Madrid, NY, a sister, Yvonne Sharlow of Heuvelton, NY and a brother, Chester and wife, Laura Tyndall of Madrid, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his loving wife, Cathy Tyndall in July of 2018, and brothers, Everett and Mackey Tyndall.
