Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg.

Mr. Raymon passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at his home.

He is survived by his two children, Shelly Enoch and her life partner, Chuck Defoe, of Gouverneur, and John Raymon Jr., of Lisbon; five grandchildren, Justin Raymon and his wife, Lindsay, Crystal Raymon, Chris Enoch and his life partner, Rhen Dailey, and Shelby Raymon and Bridgette Moxley; thirteen great-grandchildren; his siblings, Donna Hazelton and her husband, Rick, and Janet Blackburn; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife, Donna Raymon; a great-granddaughter, Syriah Raymon and a brother, David Raymon.

John was born on August 19, 1951, in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of Grover John and Dorothy E. O’Grady Raymon.

He graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1969.

John married Donna Casey on March 14, 1970, at St. Raphael’s Church in Heuvelton, NY, with Monsignor Robert J. Giroux officiating.

He first went to work for Diamond National for several years before they ceased operations. He then went to work for Dunn Paper Mill in Gouverneur, retiring in 2015 after many years of service.

John will be remembered as a man of relentless drive and deep devotion to his family and the great outdoors. A tireless worker who was happiest when keeping his hands busy, John found his true sanctuary in nature.

Whether he was tracking deer through the woods, waiting for ducks at dawn, targeting woodchucks, or casting a line into his favorite fishing spot, he cherished every moment spent outside—especially the days spent trapping for furs alongside his son.

Above all, John’s greatest joy was his family. He adored all of his grandchildren, sharing a particularly special bond with Alex, whom he proudly and affectionately referred to as his twin.

John’s legacy of hard work, love for the outdoors, and deep family connection will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Donations in his memory can be made to Richard E. Winter Cancer Center, 5 Lyons Place, Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
