POTSDAM -- Potsdam Ice Storm captured the 2013 NYSAHA Girls 16U Tier II State Championship Tournament held at Pine Street Arena by defeating Lysander Lightning in overtime Sunday.
On Friday, the Ice Storm played the last contest of the day to beat the Buffalo Stars/Hornets 5-0.
On Saturday, Ice Storm defeated Lysander Lightning 6-3 and came back that night to defeat Webster Lady Cyclones 8-0.
Potsdam Ice Storm completed round robin play with 6 points and was deemed the first seed of Division II in the tournament.
On Sunday, Potsdam edged out a hard fought overtime win over the Brewster Lady Bulldogs 2-1 in the second game of the semi-final round.
Potsdam and Lysander met up for a rematch in the championship game.
Ice Storm broke a 1-1 tie by scoring a late marker in regulation and prevailing 2-1 to become the 2013 NYSAHA Girls16U State Champions for the second consecutive year.
The Potsdam Ice Storm 16U team includes Ally Compeau (Potsdam), Maddy Dillabough (Massena), Ally Miller (Potsdam), Kelley Paduano (Massena), Colleen Besaw (Massena), Mia Jermano (Massena), Kirstin Barkley (Norwood), Emily Wilmshurst (Massena), Kalie Grant (Potsdam), Jenny Tardelli (Potsdam), Ellen Greene (Massena), Shannon Casey (Massena), McKaylee Boak (Canton), Lydia Cosgrove (Malone), Kelsey Green (Potsdam), Baily Dillabough (Massena), and Natalie Giglio (Ogdensburg).
