We at Church & Community Program in Canton are delighted and proud to have been awarded $1,500 from the Stewart’s Holiday Match.
Wow, that loose change really adds up! Thank you to Stewart’s Shops and Stewart’s customers for your support.
In addition to our year-round food pantry, CCP has an annual Back to School Program and a holiday Giving Tree Program, both of which focus on children. We dedicate our Holiday Match to these efforts.
The Back to School Program serves students in three school districts: Canton Central, Hermon DeKalb and Edwards-Knox. With the Holiday Match, fundraising, and contributions from local churches, businesses and individuals, we’re able to provide essential classroom supplies required for each grade; brand new, stylish sneakers; and free haircuts to local students. This past fall, we served 205 students from 104 local families.
Again, with the support of the community, our Giving Tree Program provides certificates for clothing, toys, games, and other gifts as well as hand knit hats and mittens for local children. We also provide grocery vouchers to assure a holiday feast. In December 2022, Giving Tree helped brighten the holidays for 387 children from 150 local families.
We look forward to this year’s programs, and very much appreciate this generous match from Stewart’s Shops.
