NORWOOD -- A Norwood man is accused of choking his girlfriend and refusing to let her leave their residence Tuesday.
Korey S. Mitchell, 24, of 2894 Co. Rt. 47 has been charged by St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth degree criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing, and third-degree menacing, all misdemeanors.
Deputies said Mitchell blocked his girlfriend's way, took the telephone away so she could not call for help, grabbed her by the throat and threatened to punch her in the face.
He was arraigned before Stockholm Town Justice Wayne Williams and released to probation supervision.
He is due back in Stockholm court May 18.
