MASSENA – The annual Seniorama Celebration of Senior Citizens opens at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Centre, State Rt. 37, Massena.
Mayor James Hidy will open the event with a speech, which will precede an appearance by entertainer Dannny Klebes at 11 a.m., a big Senior Idol contest starting at noon, and more musicians and dancers and a variety of activities, including a fashion show, all free for St. Lawrence County seniors.
The number of vendors showing their wares and demonstrating services has grown well beyond what was originally planned. Nearly 120 vendors will be in place at the Seniorama.
Politicians will be making appearances, including Congressman Bill Owens. There will also be health screening tests, a legal center, and crafters, along with giveaways of lots of donated prizes. Also available will be a free souvenir book which will have a coupon good at the St. Lawrence Centre food court.
