NORTH CAROLINA - A Celebration of Life gathering for Kindie Ann Dufore, 53, a resident of Charlotte, NC and formerly of Norfolk, NY will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at the Norwood American Legion starting at 1:00 p.m. Services were held privately and burial was held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk, NY.
Kindie is survived by her partner and husband of 35 years, Mason Dufore, Charlotte; her children, Mason Jr. and Tessa; her mother, Jean Shyne, Norfolk; her five siblings, Edward and Susan Shyne, SC; Walter and Peggy Shyne, Syracuse; Darrel Shyne, Ohio; Melody and Terry McDonald, Syracuse and Angie and Fred Conger, Norfolk as well as several nieces and nephews. Kindie was pre-deceased by her Father, Walter.
Born in Potsdam, NY on July 19, 1972, a few days ahead of her eventual husband in the same setting, to the late Walter F. and Jean Arno Shyne, Kindie graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1990. She served in the Army reserves and worked as a Pharmacy Technician for CVS.
In her spare time, Kindie enjoyed arts & crafts, creative invention, and charitable endeavors, but most of all maintaining relationships with those closest. From 2012 to 2025 she participated in ‘the great cycle challenge. https://greatcyclechallenge.com/ a children's cancer charity fundraiser.
Kindie leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Kindie’s life was marked by her indelibly positive spirit, connections and experiences that touched those around her. To know her was to love her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Kindie will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
