North Country This Week
CANTON - Downtown Canton will soon have an Indian restaurant on Main Street.
Aman Chadha, owner of the Royal India Grill, 38 Market St., Potsdam, said he expects to open the takeout-only restaurant Indian Express the first week of August in the former Buster’s Sports Cafe building, 109 Main St..
He said the business will also feature a small grocery store with both American and Indian ready-to-eat snack items and s smoke shop.
Although a takeout-only format, Chadha said he has plans to have tables available at the restaurant for customers.
Chadha said the menu of homemade authentic Indian cuisine will be similar to offerings at his Potsdam restaurant. Dishes will include appetizers, soups, salads, biryanis/race specialities, Tandoori clay oven specials with chicken, lamb and shrimp, vegetarian dishes, Indo-Chinese cuisine, Tandoori bread, and a variety of chicken and lamb dishes.
