MOIRA — State Police said they are investigating the deaths of two people after a woman was found dead at a home on South Woods Road in Moira and a man was later found dead inside a vehicle in Wayne County. Troopers responded about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, to conduct a criminal investigation, officers said. Upon arrival, they found a deceased woman.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding her death. The investigation remains active, with investigators processing the scene and executing search warrants, according to state police.
Information obtained during the investigation led troopers to identify a vehicle potentially connected to the incident.
At about 10:30 a.m., troopers assigned to Troop E located a red 2009 Chevrolet Silverado matching the vehicle's description in the town of Lyons, Wayne County.
Troopers, assisted by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to comply, leading to a pursuit.
During the pursuit, sheriff's deputies deployed tire deflation devices. The Silverado subsequently left the roadway on State Route 14 in Lyons.
Troopers and deputies ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, but the driver did not comply. The Sheriff's Office then deployed an armored vehicle to approach the Silverado, where the driver was found dead.
State police are being assisted by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
