POTSDAM — A Madrid resident was charged with writing bad checks stemming from a July 18 complaint, according to state police.
Shelly L. Smith, 49, was charged with issuing bad checks and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation at 10 p.m. on Sept. 6, police said.
She was cited and released.
