LISBON -- Lisbon Central School Athletic Department presents a special appearance by World Ironman Triathlete and 2002 Lisbon Central graduate Matt Russell at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4 in the school auditorium.
Russell has excelled in the world of professional athletics at Ironman and Duathlon competitions.
At his appearance, Russell will speak about his success, how he achieved it, and what it takes to be a professional triathlete, his journey, and his road to return to the racing world.
His achievements include 2017 Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga Champion; 2016, 14th in the KPR World Ranking and 3rd American, Ironman 70.3 Raleigh Champion, and 2012 Ironman Canada Champion; two-time USA Duathlon National Champion; Division I New England 3000 Steeplechase Champion.
He is also now training other triathlon athletes.
