Wild Edibles workshop

CANTON: Wild Edible Adirondack Salad workshop, organized by the Canton-based Local Living Venture, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Birch Boys storefront at 123 Park St. in Tupper Lake; carpools are being arranged to Tupper Lake from Potsdam/Canton and points in Jefferson County by workshop presenters Garrett Kopp of Birch Boys Chaga Tea and the Local Living Venture; event is indoors, with the option of a foraging hike afterwards if weather permits; $24, or $45 for two people, and $12 student, partial scholarships (less material costs) are available upon request; register: LocalLivingVenture@gmail.com or call 315-347-4223.

Fungi class

RENSELLAER FALLS: Fungi at the Indian Creek Nature Center, Rensselaer Falls, 10 a.m.-noon; Claire Burkum shares her enthusiasm for all kinds of fungi; participants will see lichens, shelf fungi, and probably mushrooms, and also perhaps distinguish these fungi from similar (but non-fungal) organisms like slime molds; bring a hand lens or magnifying glass if possible; 315-261-1884.
