Color Me Remington

OGDENSBURG: Frederic Remington Art Museum’s Color Me Remington 5K Fun Walk/Run, Maple City Trail beginning at the Dobisky Visitors' Center, 10 a.m.; family friendly run, not about crossing the finish line first, but to see how colorful you can get along the route; $20 registration by Sept. 1, day of the race $25; applications available at www.fredericremington.org or museum lobby; packets available at 9 a.m. race morning at Dobisky Visitors' Center include a shirt, bib number and sunglasses; pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses; free to children younger than 7, who may participate with a waiver signed by a registered adult; 393-2425, Melanie Flack.

Black Powder Shoot

MADRID: Waddington Fish and Game Club, 335 Hardscrabble Rd., is hosting a Black Powder Shoot Exhibition, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; shooters need to bring their own black powder guns, which can include muskets, caplock rifles, revolvers, pistols, and in-line rifles; food and drinks will be available for sale each day; onsite camping is free; 315-322-5568, www.waddingtonfishgame.com.

Fall Golf Classic

POTSDAM: Orchestra of Northern New York invites area golfers to participate in its second annual Fall Golf Classic, Potsdam Country Club; registration 11 a.m. with free coffee and donuts available until the 4-person, mixed scramble tournament starts at 12:30; register before Sept. 10 for $75; $100 per person registration the day of the event; fee includes 18 holes of golf with cart, appetizers, lunch on the turn, dinner, on-course contests and door prizes; skins, putting contest, raffles and silent auction will also be available; local chef Wally Siebel is preparing appetizers for after the tournament during cocktail hour; roast beef dinner, with vegetarian option, included; guests of participants who wish to attend the dinner may do so for $25/per person; Andy Van Duyne and Michael Welsh, aka Microburst, will entertain from 5-7 p.m.; registration forms available at Potsdam Town and Country Club Pro Shop, at Brick and Mortar Music, 15 Market St., or online at www.onny.org; 315-267-3251.
