Heavy rain and wind forced cancellation of the first round of the 2012 St Lawrence University Collegiate Golf Invitational early in Saturday's opening afternoon of play. The rain and wind limited visibility and made greens unplayable about five holes into Saturday's action and with more rain possible later in the day, it was decided to cancel day one and make the tournament an 18 hole affair to be contested Sunday. Sunday's weather forecast is for partly cloudy and cool conditions.
It marks the first time in the 14 years of the co-ed tournament that a round has not been completed due to weather. Eight women's teams and 12 men's teams will tee it up at 8 a.m. Sunday to determine the 2012 champions.
