WADDINGTON -- A fireworks display will light up Waddington's Whittaker Park Thursday in celebration of the 10th annual St. Lawrence International Junior Carp Tournament.
A carp fishing school will be held Thursday prior to the tournament. More than 100 young anglers participating are expected to participate at the casting contest at around 6 p.m.
The fireworks display will begin after sunset.
The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s Junior Carp contest begins Friday with fishing from 7 a.m. to noon, then 1 to 8 p.m. On Saturday fishing is from 7 a.m. to noon, then 1 to 5 p.m.
The award ceremony is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Madrid-Waddington Central School.
