I live in Potsdam Village because I love the small-town feel, the character and charm of the village, and I appreciate the response of the police whenever we need to call them--in a place with two colleges, the need, due to noise especially, arises from time to time. Without village zoning oversight, we would lose much of the essential character of our village. Studies of other dissolutions do not conclusively show that we will save money, in fact many show the opposite. If you are tired of the Town and Village bickering, elect new people and contact those who represent you. Let’s not “throw the baby out with the bathwater!” Educate yourself on this issue, and don’t stay home on election day--Vote anti-dissolution.
