CANTON – If you’re looking for a community volunteer opportunity this spring, you can head to the village park for the Second Annual Canton Community Clean-Up Day, 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 21, which is the day before National Earth Day.
All are welcome -- families, clubs, students, sports teams, and so on.
Participants will collect litter from village streets, playgrounds and parking lots and meet back in the park for disposal.
Trash bags, plastic gloves and street maps will be provided.
Muffins, donuts and bottled water will be provided by the Canton Price Chopper.
The Canton Rotary Club and Casella Waste, Potsdam, have also provided support for the event, called "Canton, the County Seat, Let's Keep it Neat."
Last year, about 100 people volunteered and organizers are hoping for another strong turnout.
