“Potsdam Village Trustees vote to stop funding recreation program, sell assets to town” A giant step in the right direction - moving more of the cost of the services to the appropriate funding body. Recreation should certainly be a town-wide program. So should the Museum, the airport and economic development. Remember: taxpayers in the village also pay town and county taxes. Let the people in the village additionally pay for those things that only the people in the village use. Then, if the mayor and the trustees address quality of life issues and the enforcement of existing village codes there is a chance they can turn this village around before the next dissolution movement.
