OGDENSBURG — Two Ogdensburg police officers are on paid leave while the city investigates an incident involving the use of a Taser on a city woman.
The event was captured on video and circulated on social media over the past few days.
City Manager Stephen Jellie said the officers were not suspended or being disciplined, but said he believes anytime use of force involving a gun or Taser is used it’s good practice to investigate and ensure that things were handled properly.
He said the snippet circulating on social media is a 30-second clip of a two-day saga.
He said the city must investigate such incidents to ensure the safety of citizens and officers.
