A trio of triples did the damage as Vassar swept a Liberty League baseball makeup doubleheader with St. Lawrence in Poughkeepsie on Tuesday.

Vassar is now 12-9 on the season and 7-5 in the Liberty League while the Saints are 13-12 and 9-7. The Saints are scheduled to play at Plattsburgh Wednesday.
The Saints jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first in game one, but Vassar's Adam Erkis shut them down the rest of the way to improve to 5-0 on the season after the Brewers rallied for the win.
Bryan Palermo led off with a double to left and scored on Mark Syron's triple. Khifer O'Connor then singled home Syron for a 2-0 lead. Devin Robson reached on a fielder's choice and later scored on a throwing error for the third Saint run.
Vassar got two off Joe Riley in the bottom of the second on a walk, a triple by Jason Garfinkel and a ground out, tied it with a run in the bottom of the fourth on a walk, single, wild pitch and ground out and scored the game winner in the bottom of the fifth on a triple by Bradley Kendall and a single by Brooks English.
In game two, the Saints took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth, but Vassar came right back with three in the bottom of the inning on a three-run triple by Kyle Casey. O'Connor led off the top of the inning with a single, Kevin Prindle walked and Zane Fish loaded the bases with a single to the hole at short. Brian Magovney then reached on an error, scoring O'Connor.
The Saints threatened in the top of the sixth, loading the bases with two outs, but reliever Connor Cucalon got the final out to snuff out the Saint rally.
