POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Town Council made appointments, set salaries and attended to other annual responsibilities at its organizational meeting Tuesday night.
Former Town Councilor Rose Rivezzi, who served on the board until she stepped down at the end of last year, was appointed to be deputy supervisor, an unelected position but one that provides for emergency leadership for the board if the elected supervisor cannot attend to town business.
Supervisor Ann Carvill made committee appointments for herself and board members Judy Rich, Sarah Lister, Toni Kennedy, and the newest member elected last November, Marty Miller:
• Audit Committees –Miller/Lister Rich/Kennedy
• Budget Committee –Carvill/Rich
• Climate Smart Committee– Kennedy
• Infrastructure Committee – Miller/Lister/Keleher /Alternate Carvill
• Negotiations/Personnel- Carvill/Rich
• Recreation Committee – Lister/Miller
• Safety Committee – Kennedy/Miller/Keleher / Alternate Carvill
The council approved the following people to continue in these positions or to assume them for the first time, and their salaries:
• Margaret Brusso, supervisor’s bookkeeper, $44,232.53
• Sally Boslet, per-diem supervisor’s clerk, $24/hour
• Cindy Goliber, tax collector $5,375
• Karen McAllister, deputy tax collector, $1,025
• Set salary for deputy town clerk Karen McAllister, $42,323.18
• Set salary for Danielle Mitchell, clerk to the assessor, $28,200
• Set salary for assessor James McGuire, $43,180
• Set salary for deputy court clerk Sherri Stone, $41,636.57
• Set salary for court clerk Lori Hayes, $43,960
• Set salary for P/T court clerk Chastity Baxter, $18.14/hour
• Tim Rivers, peace officer/constable: $20.94/hour
• Set salary for code enforcement officer Michael Boysuk, $36,740
• Set salary for part-time code enforcement officer James Plumley, $22.27/hour
• Robert Narrow, cleaner, $16.84/hour
• Francis Cappello, town attorney, $30,000
• Karen McAllister, historian, $800
• Cindy Goliber appointed marriage officer term, to expire 12/31/2023
The board approved salaries for the senior members of town government:
• Supervisor Ann Carvill, $23,000
• Deputy Supervisor Rose Rivezzi, $1,000
• Board members Sarah Lister, Judy Rich, Toni Kennedy, Marty Miller, $4,120 each
• Town Clerk Cindy Goliber, $51,253
• Highway Superintendent John Keleher, $74,000
• Town Justices Samuel Charleson, James Mason, $28,500 each
