MASSENA -- The town on Oct. 8 received a $179,000 casino compact check, which covers the payment for the fourth quarter of 2013, Town Supervisor Joseph Gray said Wednesday.
The board is waiting until next week to come up with their spending proposal, which is required by Albany before they can use the funds.
A few projects the Town Council okayed this year out of previous payments include a feasibility study for townwide Wi-Fi internet, hiring a consultant to do a study of Massena Memorial Hospital’s finances, a multi-purpose events center feasibility study, a segment about Massena on a nationally broadcast TV show and informational pamphlets about the town to be given out at Thruway rest areas.
