CANTON -- TAUNY, 53 Main St., will open a new case exhibit of historic North Country dairy bottles Saturday, June 4.
"Heritage in a Bottle" is a collection of more than 60 antique milk bottles from dairies around the area presented by the Sunday Rock Legacy Project as part of their ongoing effort to document the stories of regional dairies.
A rummage sale featuring a wide variety of items will take place both in front of the building and inside. Organized by the TAUNY Board of Directors as a fundraiser to support the work that TAUNY does in the community, the sale features antiques and collectibles, linens, depression glass, a large selection of costume and vintage jewelry, books, kitchenware, household items, furniture, and some surprises. The sale runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. or until everything is sold.
The Sunday Rock Legacy Project will also be selling antique J.N. Swift & Sons milk bottles from South Colton, along with documentation, for $50 each, to raise funds to continue their extensive research on the history of dairy farms in the area.
