The St. Lawrence University volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to RIT on Saturday in the team's final match of a Liberty League round robin in Rochester, NY. RIT's Cat Sullivan led the Tigers with 12 kills and only two errors, as the host school picked up the league win, 28-26, 20-25, 25-18, 25-15.

St. Lawrence falls to 5-12 (1-3) on the season, while the victory propels the Tigers to 10-6 (1-2).

First-year student Lexi Brown led St. Lawrence with 10 kills, while classmate Cristina Deschaine added eight. Co-captain Jenna Street had 19 assists and 10 digs, while fellow captain Katie Prue had a match-high 21 digs. RIT was led defensively by Bethany Davis' 19 digs, while Christina Worth had 39 assists.

The opening set was highly competitive, as each team worked to take a 1-0 edge behind some outstanding hitting on each side. However, it was RIT that sniffed out a 28-26 win to grab the early lead.

The Saints would respond in the second game, pulling out a critical 25-20 win to make it 1-1. The team out-hit the Tigers 9-7 and was aided by 10 errors by the home squad.

RIT would rebound from the tough second game and catch fire in games three and four, posting 25 kills to only five errors in the final two games. That stretch would allow the host school to win 25-18 and 25-15 to close out the Liberty League match.

St. Lawrence will be in action again this week on Tuesday, September 25 when it hosts Plattsburgh State at 6:00pm.
