To the Editor:

I am grateful for the recent work that the Town of Stockholm Highway Department completed at the front of my driveway. I'd like to specifically mention the highway Superintendent, Ethan Cheney and two of the crewmen Jed and Jordan Arquitt.  

There was a concern about a collapsed culvert and when I called Mr. Cheney he came and inspected the damage within two days. Within five days he had a road crew at the site and spent the day replacing and repairing the ditch and roadside. 

During this process I didn't have access to my driveway but the the men were kind and very clear in their communication of when I would have access.  I know it's a very busy season for all highway departments and so I am incredibly thankful that Ethan and his crew were able to take a day to make this repair. 

As an aside, I would take this opportunity to remind motorists to please slow down when there is a construction zone. These workers are working hard to provide safe roadways for all of us to travel on and I think it is not too much to ask to give them space and slow down. Let everyone get home safely to their families after work.
