State Assemblyman Mark Walczyk, R-Watertown, has been endorsed by the New York State Police Investigators Association (NYSPIA), Local 4, International Union of Police Associations.
NYSPIA consists of more than 2,400 active and retired members across the state. Their leadership “advocates for their troop members daily and feel that Assemblyman Walczyk is the clear choice to represent the [North Country Assembly district],” said a press release from Walczyk's office.
“On behalf of the members of the New York State Police Investigators Association, Local 4, International Union of Police Associations, AFL-CIO, we proudly endorse your candidacy for Assemblyman of the 116th district,” said Ronald Pierone, Acting President of the NYSPIA. “Your demonstrated record of success in all aspects of your career, publicly and privately, reinforces our belief that you are the right candidate.”
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of the NYSPIA. These Senior Investigators often put themselves in harm's way to build the cases that put criminals behind bars; keeping us all safe," Walczyk said. “During a time when law enforcement need our support more than ever, it’s critically important to have lawmakers fight to make sure they have the tools they need. We have to defend not defund or 're-budget' as some say. I’ll always have the back of the NYSPIA and I'm glad they have ours.”
