AKWESASNE -- Tribal Police have arrested a suspect in last week’s Raquette Point Road stabbing.
Tyson L. Gonyou, 26, of Hogansburg is jailed on a felony count of second-degree assault. He was taken into custody on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Gonyou allegedly stabbed a 22-year-old male multiple times in the torso in the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 27 at 237 Raquette Point Road. Police have not released the victim’s identity. He was taken by ambulance to Massena Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
Gonyou was arraigned in Bombay Town Court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail, Malone in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond, pending a future court appearance.
He could face up to seven years in state prison, if convicted.
