CANTON — Through March 30, St. Lawrence County will accept applications from property owners to add land to Agricultural Districts 1 and 2.
The County’s agricultural districts can help protect sound farming activities from nuisance lawsuits and unreasonable land use regulations.
There are two ag districts in the county. Agricultural District 1 primarily consists of agricultural lands in the western and southern portions of the county, and Agricultural District 2 spans across the county’s northern and eastern regions.
Digital maps showing whether land is in an ag district are available online at https://maps.dancgis.org/ima/
Applications to add land to Ag District 1 or 2 can be accessed at https://www.stlawco.org/foldershare/616, obtained at local municipal offices, calling the County Planning Office at 315-379-2292, or by emailing lbartalo@stlawco.org.
Applications will be accepted until Tuesday, March 30.
