The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging has coupon booklets worth $20, redeemable at your local farmers’ market for fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables.
These coupons are available free for seniors over 60 who are receiving or eligible for SSI, public assistance, food stamps, Section 8 housing subsidy, or whose income is less than $1,678 if single or less than $2,267 if married.
Only one coupon booklet will be issued per senior household regardless of how many low-income seniors comprise the household. Coupon booklets cannot be mailed to eligible seniors. Proxies may not pick up and sign for coupon booklets. The distribution of Farmer Market Coupon Booklets will be as follows:
Norfolk: Norfolk Senior Picnic, Zappia Community Center, Friday, July 8, 10 a.m. to noon.
DeKalb: Sunrise Valley Apartments, Wednesday, July 13, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Star Lake:Food & Friendship Center, Thursday, July 14, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Gouverneur: Cambray Courts, 68 West Main St., Friday, July 15, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Canton: Food & Friendship Center, Riverside Drive, Tuesday, July 1910:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
