CANTON -- Enjoy fresh greens and handmade decorations when friends and neighbors gather at 3 East Main St., for the St. Lawrence County Historical Association’s Holiday Open House Friday, Dec. 2 from 4 to 8 p.m.

Festive floral arrangements, refreshments, fanciful holiday music, and friendship will fill the air at this holiday event. The Canton Garden Club provides fresh greens, floral arrangements, and early American Christmas tree decorations like gingerbread, dried apples, and lace.

The Holiday Open House includes live seasonal music provided by local musical talent including the Canton Central School Vocal Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Kimberly Busch at 4:15 p.m.; John Danis and Laura Rediehs at 6:15 p.m.; and the Noteworthy Handbell Choir at 7:15 p.m.

The Historical Association also offers early American toys and games, local history books, wooden miniatures of St. Lawrence County buildings and tree ornaments. The two newest additions to the gift shop are The DeKalb Historical Reader compiled by Bryan Thompson and Rails Across the River, a history of the Ogdensburg-Prescott Rail Ferry Service, by Ted Rafuse. The museum and shop will remain open for the season through Friday, December 23rd.
