St. Lawrence County will see a dry start to the day with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms expected this afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 70, the service says. Showers and thunderstorms are possible between 1 to 3 p.m.
The overnight low is expected to be around 55.
An even greater likelihood of showers and thunderstorms is expected on Tuesday, NWS says. Temperatures will be several degrees below normal Tuesday, the service says.
The threat of showers will continue into Wednesday, but then a change will take place to a warming trend starting Thursday and continuing through the weekend, NWS says. However, this pattern will also be conducive to more widespread showers and thunderstorms across the entire area during this period.
The forecast through the weekend is as follows:
Tuesday
Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. South wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Southwest wind around 8 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Wednesday
A 30 percent chance of showers after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Southwest wind 8 to 15 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
Thursday
Rain and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 8am. High near 72. South wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
