OGDENSBURG — A boil water advisory is in effect for resident in the 200 block of Williams St. and the 500 and 600 blocks of Lisbon St.
Officials say resident should bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute, and cool before using or use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
A fire hydrant and valve replacement in the 200 block of Williams St. led to the advisory, with work currently ongoing.
Officials say residents will be informed when it is safe to drink tap water again, saying “bacteriological samples will be collected to confirm the water is safe to drink, which will take a few days.”
