Aided by a prevailing moist westerly flow from the Great Lakes, periods of snow shower activity will continue across St. Lawrence County today with, most frequent across the higher terrain of the northern Adirondacks, according to the National Weather Service.
Only minimal snow accumulations are forecast in valley locations, but several inches are expected in favored upslope flow locations, NWS says.
There is a 70 percent chance of snow showers today, mainly this afternoon, with wind gusts as high as 30 mph, the service says. Total accumulation will be a dusting to two inches.
Another dusting to two inches is possible overnight with lows in the upper 20s in the county.
Another couple inches of snow is possible Saturday with highs in the lower 30s.
Temperatures will trend cooler, but will remain above normal for late January. The coldest day of the next week is expected to be on Monday.
The forecast through the middle of the week in St. Lawrence County is as follows:

Snow showers likely. Additional snow accumulation a dusting to 2 inches possible. Highs in the lower 30s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.

Snow showers. Additional light snow accumulation. Lows in the lower 20s. West winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of snow 80 percent.
