I don’t think our village board researched the new trash bags very thoroughly. The “15-gallon” bags hold less than the 13-gallon handle tie bags I’ve been using. The bottoms of the new bags are gathered and don’t spread out flat so you lose capacity there and they require twist ties so you lose more capacity in order to leave enough bag to use the twist tie. It is likely I will have to spend more than twice what I was with the stickers to put the trash out each week. I hope the village is getting part of the proceeds on the bag sales. With the increased income perhaps they can lower the quarterly trash bill.
