CANTON -- St. Lawrence University’s theme houses will offer a free haunted house and tasty treats for community children this Halloween season.
The Hub, a theme house located at 1 Lincoln St., will host two haunted houses on Saturday, Oct. 24. The first session, taking place from 1 to 4 p.m. will be family-friendly, while the 7 to 9 p.m. session will be better suited for older audiences. Both events are free and open to the public.
On Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, all of St. Lawrence’s theme houses will welcome community members to trick-or-treat from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Participating houses will be identified by bright yellow paper hung on the front of the houses.
Theme houses participating include: 17 College St., L.I.G.H.T. House; 25 College St., Beta Theta Pi; 50 Park St., H.O.P.E.; 52 Park St., Black Student Union; 53 Park St., Kappa Delta Sigma; 54 Park St., La Casa Latina; 58 Park St., Outing Club; 62 Park St., Habitat for Humanity; 70 Park St., Greenhouse; 72 Park St., Alpha Tau Omega; 78 Park St., Commons College; 11 Maple St., Campus Kitchens; 21 Romoda Drive, Arts Annex; 1 University Ave., Artist Guild; 3 University Ave., Women’s Resource Center; 5 University Ave., Java and 1 Lincoln St., The Hub.
Last year, more than 200 children and their parents trick-or-treated at St. Lawrence theme houses. Theme houses are residences occupied by St. Lawrence students who have common interests and are located near the university.
