A large crowd turned out Saturday night for SUNY Potsdam’s LoKo Arts Festival of Lights, which featured illuminated art, live music and a drone show on campus. The event featured light displays throughout the Academic Quad, Satterlee Hall and Minerva Plaza, along with hands-on activities for visitors. Regional artists displayed original works, including illuminated jellyfish, artwork made from repurposed glass and interactive displays featuring color and light. Artist Liza Paige ’12 debuted “Night Vision,” an installation that turned an upcycled desk scene into an illuminated line drawing and interactive photo experience. Local rock cover band SFM performed, and a drone show set to music from the Crane School of Music archives lit up the sky to cap off the night. The festival was part of LoKo Arts’ 15th anniversary year, which carries the theme “Illumination,” and marked the public culmination of the launch of Deeply Rooted, Future Focused: The Campaign for Potsdam.
