WADDINGTON -- The Waddington Sons of the American Legion is taking sign-ups for the Feb. 14 “Come Hook Some Cold Hard Cash” ice fishing derby.
Over $2,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs.
Fishing boundaries run from the Iroquois Dam to Coles Creek Marina. There is one weigh station at Coles Creek.
Anglers can be on the ice from sunrise until 4 p.m. An award ceremony will follow at 5 p.m. at the American Legion, 23 Fenton St. in Waddington.
First prize is $500, with $50 bonuses for the heaviest perch and walleye. There will also be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and free drawings.
Entry fee is $25. Those age 16 and under fish for free in their own bracket.
Register at Waddington American Legion, Green Machine Bait and Tackle at 150 Irish Settlement Road in Waddington, Uppstrom's Bait and Tackle at 130 Rooky Road in Madrid or at the weigh station on the day of the derby.
