OSWEGATCHIE -- Another United Helpers employee has been charged with mistreating a resident.
St. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies arrested Stephanie D. Cardinell, 38, of 4231 Cty. Rt. 6, Ogdensburg, Friday, and charged her with two Class A misdemeanors, third-degree assault and endangering an incompetent or disabled person.
Deputies were acting on a complaint from United Helpers Management that Cardinell had assaulted a resident.
It is alleged that Cardinell struck the resident several times in the head with her hand.
Cardinell was issued tickets requiring her presence in Oswegatchie Town Court June 15.
Wednesday, deputies charged a 25-year-old Ogdensburg man, John O'Shea, with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of an incompetent person.
Deputies said O'Shea had pinched the intimate parts of a resident at the United Helpers facility in Heuvelton.
