(Geneva, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men’s cross country team finished in sixth place out of 17 teams at the CCOC Championships on Saturday at Seneca Lake State Park in Geneva.

The 8K race is hosted by Hobart and William Smith and is for those schools that only have cross country and not any other track team.

Clarkson University won the men’s race and the Roos posted a team score of 167 to beat out 11 other teams.

Senior Justin Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.) paced the Roos with a seventh-place finish in a time of 27:35, which was 33 seconds faster than the time he posted in last year’s race.

Junior Jon Flint (Queensbury, N.Y.) came in 21st in a time of 28:21. Freshman Zachary Doyle (Oneonta, N.Y.) crossed the line in 41st place with a time of 29:16. Senior Dylan Barringer (Wallkill, N.Y.) was 59th (29:53) and freshman Mekedem Tenaw (New York, N.Y.) was 82nd (30:56).

Saturday was the Roos final regular season meet. They’ll now prepare for the USCAA National Championships on Nov. 9 in Lake Placid.
