RICHVILLE — State police said they charged a 48-year-old Richville resident following an investigation into an alleged domestic dispute.
Troopers reportedly responded to Main Street at 7:53 p.m. Nov. 3 for a reported domestic dispute.
An investigation determined that Kim L. Riley and the victim were involved in a verbal argument during which Riley allegedly damaged property inside the residence, including a telephone, officers said. The damage prevented the victim from contacting emergency services for assistance. The victim was able to locate a cellphone and call police.
Riley reportedly fled before troopers arrived, officers said. Police searched for Riley throughout the night before locating her.
Riley was charged Nov. 4 with fourth-degree criminal mischief and criminal mischief involving the disabling of equipment to prevent an emergency call.
Riley was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court and released on their own recognizance, troopers said.
