Rain, rain and more rain predicted throughout St. Lawrence County into next week

The National Weather Service says there is a chance of rain every day in St. Lawrence County through at least Tuesday.

Meteorologists are calling for 20 percent odds of rain countywide tonight, with temperatures in the low to mid 60s.

Saturday brings a chance of thunderstorms to all communities, with odds as low as 30 percent in Potsdam and Ogdensburg, to as high as 60 percent in Star Lake.

Temperatures are predicted in the low 80s.

Saturday night has a 70 to 80 percent chance of thunderstorms, with thermometers dropping down to around 50 degrees.

Sunday comes with 30 percent odds of rain in most areas of St. Lawrence County, with 60 percent chances in the mountains. That day is expected to bring cooler weather, with temperatures predicted in the low 60s.

River communities may get a reprieve from rain on Sunday night, with the rest of the county looking at 30 to 40 percent odds. Temperatures may fall to the low 40s.

Monday’s rain outlook is similar to Sunday, with temperatures warming back up to the high 60s.

The detailed forecast for Potsdam:

Tonight - A 20 percent chance of showers after 3 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph after midnight.

Saturday - A slight chance of showers between 1 and 3 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday night - Occasional showers and thunderstorms before 3 a.m., then showers likely. Low around 50. Southwest wind 7 to 14 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday - A 30 percent chance of showers before 9 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Northeast wind around 9 mph. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday night - A chance of showers between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Monday - A 30 percent chance of showers after 7 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 67. Northeast wind 7 to 11 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Monday night - A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph.

Tuesday - A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. East wind around 7 mph.

Tuesday night - A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. East wind 3 to 6 mph.

Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind.

Wednesday night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 57. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph after midnight.
